The dark fire morph is rare because it is a color morph that is not seen in the wild. Dark fire morphs are bred in captivity and aren’t found in the wild.

This morph is extremely rare and you may encounter only a few of these in your lifetime. Dark Fire morphs have a dark brownish/black color with cream-colored patterns.

Possibly the first one in existence, this crested gecko has a completely black color. This is very different from the axanthic crested gecko. The hyper melanistic gene is only seen in water monitors, blue-tongued skinks, etc.

The most common crested gecko morph is the striped morph. This is the morph most people encounter in pet stores.

It is generally a yellow to gold crested gecko with a few darker markings on the head. Striped crested geckos are very common and are the species’ standard morph.

Yes, blue crested gecko morphs are real. They are rare, but they do exist. Blue crested geckos are bred in captivity and not encountered in the wild.

They are not entirely blue, however, it covers 80-90% of their body.
